Our approach

Navigating the waters of corporate and commercial law requires expert guidance. Reach out to Michelle Beneke Attorneys for help.

1. Initial contact

When you first contact us, an attorney will personally assess your situation. Depending on your specific needs, the lawyer may take your case directly or refer you to a trusted industry colleague.

2. Scheduling a meeting

After establishing contact, we will arrange a meeting to better understand your needs, discuss various options, address specific concerns and explore tailored strategies to suit your unique circumstances.

3. KYC compliance

As an accountable institution registered under the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA), we are legally required to verify the identity of our clients, including shareholders and the ultimate beneficial owners of any ownership structures. Before we can formally engage with you, you will need to sign a mandate and provide the necessary supporting documents, much like you would with a bank. Completing this step upfront ensures compliance, prevents unnecessary delays and allows us to proceed efficiently with your matter.

4. Conducting research

Following the meeting, your attorney will thoroughly research your industry, applicable regulations and specifics relevant to your case. This includes reviewing all necessary documents to ensure they understand the matter.

5. Advisory

Based on your instructions, we may request other documents which enable us to properly understand how you need our help. We are practical and pragmatic and aim to solve your problem or explain your legal position and provide you with options. You and your objectives remain central to this process.

6. Ongoing communication

Fundamental to our approach is the understanding that we have a relationship with you and that necessitates communication. We won't send you unnecessary emails or letters to drive up fees, but instead will communicate with you as and when required to ensure that you understand where your matter stands, what the next steps are, and the various options available to provide you with the resolution that you require.
